First introduced in 2018, just one year after the jaw-dropping Balenciaga Triple S sent shockwaves through the sneaker community, the Balenciaga Track was designed to look and feel decidedly different than its predecessor. But like other sneakers released by luxury brands, Balenciaga Track sneakers still managed to stand out thanks to their streetwear-inspired style and their sleek silhouettes that made them more practical everyday shoes than the Triple S.

Designed by creative director Demna Gvasalia, who was also responsible for bringing the Triple S to life, the Balenciaga Track was made using high-quality materials like leather. It included features often found in both running sneakers and hiking shoes, which set it apart from shoes created by luxury brands that the Balenciaga Track rivals. This helps explain everything from the sneaker’s breathable mesh uppers and crisscrossed shoelaces to its extended tread and the lugs on its oversized soles.
